The macerator pump does not start if there is a blockage in the rotating area of the pump or in its cutter head. In this case, you can open the drain valve, and flush the macerator pump to clear the block. Once the block is cleared the pump starts normally.
- Rough vibrations:
If there are leakages in the macerator’s inlet line that brings the waste, the system will run intermittently and sometimes the pump might vibrate or run roughly. The problem arises when the wastewater lines have worn out resulting in leakage. They must be replaced to prevent the macerator getting activated frequently due to filling up from leakages.
- Slow pumping:
If the macerator pump is running slowly, the most probable problem is that string or hair is entangled and trapped around the blades of the cutter head and the wear plate. The system returns to normal, if the trapped material is removed and the cuter blades are replaced.
